Los Nacientes Group
e are a part of Grupo Los Nacientes, one of the most important industrial and forestry groups in Costa Rica. The group is made up of five companies. Reforestación Industrial los Nacientes (RIN) and Maderas Cultivadas de Centro América SA are in charge of genetic improvements, reforestation and managing forest planting. Cosecha Forestal provides crop services, freight and transportation for the industry.

Maderas Cultivadas de Costa Rica (MCC) manufactures the raw materials and it sells them by means of various selling locations in the country. Our plantations are primarily located in northern Costa Rica in the cantons of San Carlos, Los Chiles, and Sarapiquí and in southern Nicaragua, in the Rio San Juan department.Maderas Cultivadas de Costa Rica’s work team is made up of more than 250 people including highly regarded professionals and technicians with vast backgrounds in the forestry and industrial sectors. Additionally, the various activities, which the company undertakes through the service industry, produce more than 500 jobs. In Grupo Los Nacientes we are responsible for forest increase, the proportion high quality crop services and the production of industrial products of high value to satisfy the national and international market.
Grupo Los Nacientes was created in the 1980’s as a response to the rational and adequate use of Costa Rica’s forest. In its initial phase, the company established itself only for the purpose to reforest in order to produce wood in a manner that is sustainable, accomplishing said task through the implementation of a genetic improvement program (1990) and the subsequent development in 1992 of the first clonades plantations in America (vegetative propagation of the species). Parallel to the before mentioned processes, the first industry of “diámetros menores” was born in 1991, with an installed capacity of 50,000 m 3 per year.

By 1999, the company had installed the first production plant of solid wood tableros listona in Cetral America, as well as a department dedicated to drying wood, with an installed capacity of 1350 m 3 monthly through 9 ovens and dryers. In 2002, work on the first line of production of laminated beams in the country began with a capacity of 60 m 3 monthly along with a technological package for the application of the beams; simultaneously, in October of the same year, development of a  plywood plant began with a production capacity of 140 m 3 per month, which is characterized for the exclusive use Melina wood in all of its components. In 2003 began the Classification Line of logs which help in the adequate utilization of wood in the more indicated products according characteristics.In actuality, the cultivated wood plant of Costa Rica is characterized as having the most up to date technology for producing goods in harmony with nature. This is achieved through a process not only authorized by national organizations but as well by international entities, which through a forest certification of our production line’s custody chain guarantees a clean process that is effective and transparent.
